1. What ARMGDDN Browser Is

ARMGDDN Browser is a private, Telegram-authenticated web app for browsing and downloading curated content across multiple remotes (PC games, PCVR, extras, and more). It is fast, secure, and read-only for normal users — you browse and download, but you cannot modify anything.

All downloads go through the ARMGDDN Companion desktop app, which handles the heavy lifting reliably in the background while you do something else.

2. Getting Access & Logging In

2.1 Requirements

• A modern desktop or laptop (Windows, Linux, or macOS 13 or newer).
• A modern web browser.
• A Telegram account — used for authentication.
• The ARMGDDN Companion desktop app installed (required for downloading; see Section 11).

2.2 Telegram Authentication

On the login screen, click the Telegram login widget and authorize via Telegram. Once confirmed, your avatar and name appear in the top-right corner and the remotes landing page unlocks. Authentication is verified server-side — your Telegram credentials are never stored by ARMGDDN.

You stay logged in for as long as you are a member of the main ARMGDDN Telegram group. When you first join, complete the CAPTCHA – if you don't within about an hour, you're removed from the group, which also ends your site access. Access is checked continuously: leaving the group, or being banned from it, ends your site access right away.

Can't log in? If the login button doesn't appear, or the login fails, use the Having trouble logging in? Copy a report for Tulip button under the login box. It copies one short code that holds your browser and version, whether cookies and browser storage are allowed, whether Telegram's login loaded and could be reached, and the last login error the site showed. It contains no name, password, cookie values or tokens. Paste it in the ARMGDDN Telegram chat and Tulip tells you the likely cause. The usual ones are an ad blocker or privacy extension blocking Telegram, cookies turned off, and private browsing.

3. Landing Page: Remotes Grid

3.1 Remote Cards

Each card is a content source — PC games, PCVR, extras, and so on. Click a card to open that remote and browse its folders. The server automatically routes you to the least-loaded mirror, so you do not need to pick between PC-1, PC-2, etc. yourself.

3.2 Quota Status

If a remote is marked AT QUOTA, its card dims and becomes unclickable. The upstream storage provider has hit its bandwidth limit. Try a different remote or come back later — quota typically resets within 24 hours.

3.3 Music & Comics

Two newer cards sit after Pirated PC Apps: Music and Comics. Music is organised by artist and album, and Comics by series and issue. Folders and comic files show their cover when one is available, and Download with App works the same way as for games.

Comics can show more than a file name. Where the collection's details have been checked and corrected, a comic appears under its proper title with its issue number and release date, and a small ComicVine badge marks those whose details came from a ComicVine scan. Click the badge to open that issue on ComicVine. Inside a series, comics with these details are listed in release order. Comics without them still show their file name.

Music can be filtered by genre. On the Music card the category dropdown reads All genres and lists each genre with how many artists or albums have it; choose one to show only those, or pick Not tagged yet to see what hasn't been given a genre. Artist and album cards show small genre tags. Genres are being added to the collection a little at a time, so many albums don't have one yet and will gain tags and filter options over the coming days.

Albums and comic folders that are still being copied are shown anyway, with a note such as "still copying: 3 of 12 files", so you can see what is on its way. In Telegram, /find also searches Music and Comics. Results are grouped by platform, tap a group to expand it, and use the Continue button to page through everything.

These collections are still in the very early stages, so some albums and comic collections may be missing tracks or issues that haven't been sourced yet. Any help building them is appreciated. If you have content to donate, or you'd like to contribute, please contact Old Man of the Hills.

Some albums are automatically left out of the collection because they are unavailable or not relevant, such as remixes, live versions, karaoke or instrumental releases and compilations. The collection list should not be treated as canon or as a complete catalogue of any artist.

Music and Comics are only available on the website, https://www.armgddnbrowser.com. They are not part of the legacy ARMGDDN Browser app.

4. Main Browser Layout

The layout has a header, a toolbar with a breadcrumb trail, remote filter, search bar, and user info. The content area shows either the remotes grid or the files/folders inside a specific remote. Status messages at the top indicate loading, errors, or success.

5. Browsing Remotes & Folders

5.1 Opening a Remote

Click a remote card from the landing grid. If the root only has one folder, the app auto-enters it so you see games immediately.

5.2 Folder View

Inside a remote you see game folders and files. Each folder shows cover art (loaded fast from the server-side art cache), folder size, and last modified date.

5.3 Cross-Server Stub Folders

If a game folder is smaller than 1 KB, it is a stub pointing you elsewhere. You will see a message like "You must download from PCVR server". Switch to the indicated remote to get the actual game.

6. Searching & Finding Games

6.1 Search and Filter

Use the remote filter dropdown to narrow down to a specific remote or browse all at once. The search bar filters within the current view. Search may take a moment right after login while the index warms up — this is normal.

Punctuation and spacing are ignored, so "spider man" finds "Spider-Man". If the same game exists in more than one place with different builds (for example a newer build in Coming Attractions), the results are marked Newest or Older. If nothing matches, search shows the closest titles, allowing for a small typo.

When you search from inside a remote, only that remote is searched. If the same game also matches somewhere else (for example a newer build in Coming Attractions), a line under the results count says so, and clicking Search all remotes re-runs the search everywhere. To search everything from the start, go Home first.

6.2 Other Ways to Find Games

• Trending Downloads – The scrolling strip of what's being downloaded most right now. Click a title to open it.
• Game Radar – Personalized picks. Use Refresh for new ones, dismiss any you're not interested in, and reset to bring dismissed picks back.
• Title Details – Click a game for its details panel: trailer, Steam and SteamDB links (when the game is on Steam), Add to My List, Browse files and Read README.
• My List – Games you've saved for later. Open it from the 📋 button.
• A–Z jump bar – The letter strip down the side of long lists jumps straight to that letter (the dots button switches to numbers).
• Export content list – Use the 📊 button on a remote's card, or Export list inside a remote, to download its titles and sizes as CSV or Excel.
• Resume last visit – Takes you back to the folder you were browsing last time.
• Themes – Pick a look from the theme menu: 24 themes, from Default, Light, Blood Moon and 8-Bit to Midnight Ocean, Royal Gold, Glacier, Neon Alley, Parchment and Bubblegum, each with its own fonts and background. The menu only lists themes that match your mode: dark themes in Dark mode, light themes in Light mode, and whichever fits your device's setting when you're on System. Your choice is remembered.

6.3 Watchlist (Tell Me When It Is Added)

Under the search results, Tell me when it is added adds the title you searched for to your watchlist. You get a Telegram message when that game is added to the library, or, if it is already here, when a newer build appears. My watchlist shows what you are watching and lets you remove entries (up to 30 games). Start a chat with the ARMGDDN bot once so it is allowed to message you; if it cannot, the entry says so.

7. Game Art

Cover art is proxied from an upstream source and cached server-side after the first load. This means art loads quickly on repeat visits without extra CDN hits. If art is missing for a specific title, the folder will show a placeholder instead.

8. Downloading with ARMGDDN Companion

All game and content downloads are handled by the ARMGDDN Companion desktop app. The browser generates a secure, time-limited link and hands it off to the Companion via an armgddn:// deep link. Files are streamed directly from the download gateway — nothing passes through your web browser.

8.1 Install the Companion App

• Get the app – Use the "DOWNLOAD APP NOW" button on the landing page or grab it from the GitHub Releases link.
• First run – Launch the app at least once after installation so it can register the armgddn:// protocol handler with your OS.

8.2 Starting a Download

• Find the game – Navigate to the game or folder you want in ARMGDDN Browser.
• Click "Download with App" – The browser generates a secure link and triggers the armgddn:// deep link.
• Allow the prompt – Your browser may ask if it can open ARMGDDN Companion. Choose Open or Allow.
• Companion takes over – The app fetches the file manifest, queues the download, and starts transferring. You can close the browser tab — the download continues in the Companion.

8.3 Before a Download Starts

• Bandwidth notice – A reminder about fair bandwidth use may appear first. Tick Don't show today to skip it for the rest of the day.
• README popup – Some games show their README before downloading. Use Copy PW to copy the archive password, and note the auto-extract tip.
• Download All – Select several items and download them together in one go.
• Browse files – Look inside a game's folder and download individual files instead of the whole game.

8.4 Downloads Panel

The Downloads button (shown once you're logged in) opens a panel showing your Companion downloads and their live progress, so you can check on them from the browser.

9. Tips & Troubleshooting

• If nothing loads after login, confirm Telegram authentication succeeded and refresh the page.
• If the Telegram login button is missing or login keeps failing, turn off ad blockers and privacy extensions for this site, make sure cookies are allowed, and try a normal (not private) window. Then use Copy a report for Tulip on the login screen and paste the code in the chat if it still fails.
• If a remote is AT QUOTA, pick another remote or try later. The server tracks multiple mirrors and picks the best one automatically.
• If you see a cross-server stub in a game folder, switch to the remote it points to (PC or PCVR).
• If art images are missing or slow, they may still be warming up in the server cache. A refresh will usually fix it.
• If "Download with App" does nothing, make sure the Companion is installed and your browser is allowed to open armgddn:// links. Reinstalling the app fixes this in most cases.
• If a download produces CRC or checksum errors on a multi-part archive, cancel it, wait a moment, and start it again. The gateway now uses a spawn lock to prevent the race condition that caused this in older versions.
• Ask Tulip about a specific game – If you ask Tulip how to install, run or fix a game that's in the library, she checks that game's own README (when its folder has one) and answers from it, so you get the steps the repack's author wrote rather than general advice. Name the game in your question.
• Before re-downloading a big game because something looks wrong, ask in the Telegram group first – it's often a quick fix.
• Use a Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave). The site is built and tested for them; Firefox works but can have issues.

10. FAQ

• Do I need to pay? No. The browser is free — "premium" describes the experience, not a subscription.
• Why Telegram? Telegram is used to verify your identity and channel membership. The login widget is provided directly by Telegram — ARMGDDN never sees your password. When you join the Telegram group, complete the CAPTCHA within an hour or you'll be removed from the group and lose site access. After that, you stay logged in as long as you remain in the group; leaving it (or being banned) ends site access immediately.
• Can I break anything by browsing? No. Normal users are read-only. You can browse and download, but you cannot modify source data.
• Why do I need the Companion app? Large multi-part archives need a download manager that can handle parallel streams, resume partial files, and verify integrity. The Companion does all of that; a browser download cannot.
• Can Tulip read a game's README for me? Yes. When you ask her about a game that has a README in its folder, she uses it for her answer and says it comes from the README. If a game has none, she gives the standard install steps. The README you see in the browser before a download is the same text.
• What is a mirror? Mirrors are multiple servers hosting the same content (e.g., PC-1 and PC-2 both have the same games). The server picks the least-loaded mirror for every download automatically.

11. Using the ARMGDDN Companion App

The ARMGDDN Companion is a desktop app (Windows, Linux, macOS 13 or newer) that handles all downloads from ARMGDDN Browser. It uses bundled rclone under the hood to stream files reliably at full speed from the download gateway. You do not need to install or configure rclone yourself — everything is included.

11.1 Installation

• Windows: Download the .exe installer from GitHub Releases and run it.
• Linux: Download the .AppImage (recommended) or .deb package. For AppImage: right-click → Properties → "Allow executing as program", or run chmod +x from the terminal.
• macOS: Download the .pkg installer and run it. If the app is blocked by Gatekeeper, download Fix.command from the same release page and follow the steps in Section 11.2. Requires macOS 13 or newer; Macs on macOS 12 stay on their current version and won't be offered the update.

After installation, launch the app at least once so it registers the armgddn:// protocol with your OS.

11.2 Logging In

1. Open ARMGDDN Companion.
2. If the status shows Disconnected, click the Login button.
3. An embedded browser window opens showing the ARMGDDN login page.
4. Log in with your Telegram credentials as usual.
5. The window closes automatically once the app detects your session.
6. The status indicator turns green: Connected.

11.3 macOS "Fix.command"

Because the app is not yet signed with an Apple Developer ID certificate, macOS may refuse to launch it. If this happens:

1. Download Fix.command from the same GitHub release page.
2. Right-click (or Control-click) Fix.command and choose Open.
3. If macOS blocks it, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway next to Fix.command.
4. A Terminal window opens — enter your system password when prompted.
5. Once complete, ARMGDDN Companion should launch normally.

11.4 How to Download

1. Browse: Open ARMGDDN Browser in any modern browser.
2. Find: Navigate to the game or folder you want.
3. Click: Hit the Download with App button.
4. Allow: When your browser asks to open ARMGDDN Companion, click Open or Allow.
5. Watch: The Companion fetches the file manifest and starts downloading. The browser tab can be closed — the download keeps going.

Controlling Downloads

• Pause / Resume – Pause stops active transfers immediately. Resume rescans your download folder, skips already-complete files, and continues from where things left off. Works best with multi-file downloads.
• Cancel – Stops and removes the download from the list.
• Open Folder – Appears when a download hits 100%. Opens the download folder in your OS file manager.

Note on single large files: If a download is one big .7z archive, pausing it means that file restarts from 0% on resume. Multi-file sets (e.g., .7z.001, .7z.002, ...) benefit the most from pause/resume since finished parts are skipped.

11.5 Settings & Configuration

Click the gear icon in the app header to open Settings.

• Download Path – Where games are saved. A subfolder is created per game automatically. The free space on that drive is shown underneath, and you're warned if it runs low mid-download.
• Max Concurrent Downloads – How many files download in parallel (max 6). Default is 2. On fiber you can push this to 4–6 for faster overall speed. On slower or unstable connections, keep it at 1–2.
• Download Speed Limit – Cap the download speed in MB/s. Set to 0 for unlimited.
• Auto Extract .7z – Automatically extract .7z archives after download completes. Set it and forget it.
• Show Notifications – Desktop notifications when downloads finish.
• Minimize to Tray – Minimizing the window hides it to the system tray instead of showing in the taskbar.
• Close to Tray – Closing the window keeps the app running in the tray so in-progress downloads continue.
• Auto-Update – Automatically downloads and installs updates when the app starts.
• Start with OS – Launch the Companion automatically when you log into your computer.
• Start Minimized – When starting with the OS, launch directly to the tray instead of opening the window.
• Check my setup – A button at the bottom of Settings that looks at the things behind most install and launch problems: free space on your download drive and on the Windows temp drive, whether your download folder is somewhere protected or has a very long path, which antivirus you have (and whether Windows Defender excludes your download folder), and whether the redistributables games need are installed. Each line is marked OK, a warning with what to fix, or "could not check". For missing redistributables, type /redists in the ARMGDDN Telegram chat.
• Copy report for Tulip – Appears after you run Check my setup. It copies one short code holding the results and the recent warnings from the app's log, with your user name, folder names, web-address details, e-mail addresses and anything that looks like a password or token removed. Paste it in the ARMGDDN Telegram chat when you ask Tulip for help and she reads it and answers from what it shows.
• Send Error Reports – On by default. When something goes wrong (a crash or a failed download) the app sends an error report so it can be fixed without you having to report it. Reports contain no personal info: no download links or tokens, no IP address, and your user folder name is hidden. Turn it off to stop all reports.

Other Companion Features

• History – A list of your finished and failed downloads.
• What's New – After each update, a popup shows what changed.
• Queue priority – Drag a queued download to the top of the list to have it start first.
• Automatic mirror switching – If a mirror errors, stalls, is rate-limited or hits its download limit, the app switches to another mirror by itself (you'll see "Switched mirrors").
• Frozen download recovery – If a file stops making progress, the app notices within about a minute and retries it automatically, up to 3 times.
• Graphics safe mode – If your graphics driver makes the app crash, it switches to a safe drawing mode from the next launch. It looks and works the same.

11.6 Troubleshooting

"Quota Exceeded" Error

The upstream storage provider has hit its bandwidth cap for that remote. The Companion cannot bypass this — try a different mirror if available, or wait up to 24 hours for the quota to reset.

"Expired Link" or "401 Unauthorized"

The secure download link has expired (they are short-lived by design). Since 5.0.11 the app refreshes the link and tries another mirror on its own first, so make sure you're up to date. If it still fails:

1. Cancel the download in the Companion.
2. Go back to ARMGDDN Browser and click Download with App again to get a fresh link.

CRC / MD5 Checksum Errors on Multi-Part Archives

This can happen if a download started during a brief gateway restart or spike in demand. Cancel the affected download, wait a few seconds, and re-initiate from the browser. The gateway now handles concurrent requests with a spawn lock, so this is rare — but a retry always fixes it.

Download Frozen / Stalled

The app detects a frozen download within about a minute and retries it automatically (up to 3 times, with a fresh link). If you see "stalled and could not be resumed after several retries", wait a bit and start it again from the site. If downloads freeze and never retry, update the app.

App Closes by Itself

Usually a graphics driver problem. Since 5.0.8 the app switches to a safe drawing mode after the first such crash, so just reopen it. If it keeps closing after that, send your debug.log (see below) in the Telegram group.

Settings Cut Off on Wide or Short Screens

Fixed in 5.0.10 – update the app and the Settings panel will scroll to show every option.

App Will Not Open Links

If "Download with App" does nothing, your OS is not routing armgddn:// links to the Companion. Reinstalling the app registers the protocol handler. On Windows you can also check Default Apps in Settings.

Low Space on My Temp Drive Even Though I Save to Another Drive

Changing the download location only moves the downloaded files. The game's installer always unpacks its temporary files into the Windows temp folder, which is on C: by default, so setup can still need tens of GB free there. The Companion warns you before the download starts.

Easiest fix: free up space on C: before you run setup.

Or move your temp folder:

1. Press Start, type environment variables and open Edit the system environment variables.
2. Click Environment Variables.
3. Under User variables, edit TEMP and TMP and set both to a folder on another drive (create it first, for example D:\Temp).
4. Click OK, then restart the Companion and run setup again.

Where to Find Logs

Include your debug.log when asking for support:

• Windows: %APPDATA%\armgddn-downloader\
• Linux: ~/.config/armgddn-downloader/
• macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/armgddn-downloader/

11.7 Updates

• The Companion checks for updates automatically on launch.
• If an update is available, a banner appears in the app UI.
• With Auto-Update enabled in Settings, updates download and install without any prompts.
• You can also trigger a manual check with the Check for Updates button in the header.

12. ARMGDDN Companion — Android

There is also an Android version of the Companion app. It works the same way as the desktop app — open ARMGDDN Browser on your phone, tap Download with App, and the Android app picks up the download automatically. Files are saved to a folder you choose on your device.

The Android app is distributed as a sideloaded APK — it is not on the Play Store.

12.1 Installation

1. On your Android device, open ARMGDDN Browser in your mobile browser and tap the DOWNLOAD APP NOW button, or go directly to the GitHub Releases page and download the .apk file.
2. When prompted, allow your browser (or Files app) to install from unknown sources. On most Android versions this is under Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps.
3. Tap the downloaded APK to install it.
4. Open the app at least once after installation. Android needs to register the armgddn:// deep link handler before download handoffs will work.

12.2 Logging In

1. Open ARMGDDN Companion on your Android device.
2. Tap the Login button (shown when the app is not yet authenticated).
3. An in-app browser opens the ARMGDDN login page.
4. Log in with your Telegram credentials as normal.
5. The browser closes automatically and the app transitions to the ready state.

12.3 Starting a Download

1. Open ARMGDDN Browser in your Android browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.).
2. Navigate to the game or folder you want.
3. Tap Download with App.
4. Android will ask which app to open the armgddn:// link with — choose ARMGDDN Companion.
5. The app opens, fetches the manifest, and starts downloading to your selected folder.

12.4 Download Folder

The first time you start a download, the app will prompt you to pick a folder using Android's built-in folder picker. Choose where you want games saved (e.g., your Downloads folder or an SD card path). The app remembers this choice for future downloads.

You can change the folder at any time from within the app.

12.5 Troubleshooting (Android)

Tap "Download with App" but nothing happens

Android has not registered the armgddn:// link handler. Make sure the app is installed and that you have opened it at least once. If the problem persists, reinstall the APK.

App asks to set a download folder every time

This can happen if Android revokes folder permissions after the app is updated or reinstalled. Tap the folder selector in the app, pick your folder again, and grant permanent access when prompted.

Can't install the APK ("Install blocked")

You need to allow installs from unknown sources for the app or browser you are using to open the APK. Go to Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps and enable it for your browser or file manager.

12.6 Updates (Android)

The Android app checks for updates on launch and shows a banner if a newer version is available. Tap the update prompt to open the GitHub Releases page and download the new APK. Install it over the existing app — your settings and login session are preserved.

13. Requesting Games

13.1 Request Game

Can't find a game? Use Request Game. You'll find it, along with My Requests and Wiki, in the toolbar above the library, so you can search and request without going back to the home page. If a search finds nothing, a “Can't find it? Request …” link under the search box opens the request form with the title already filled in. Please search the library first — it may already be there under a slightly different name.

Music and Comics: the same form also takes Music and Comics requests. Pick Music (album) or Comics (series or volume) as the category and type what you are looking for, for example “Adele - 30” or “Saga - Volume 1”. There is no Steam link for these. In the Telegram search bot, a search for Music or Comics that finds nothing also shows a Request it button that creates the same request. Music and Comics requests are private: only the collection owner, Old Man of the Hills, sees them. He can approve, reject or reply, you get a Telegram message when something changes, and you can follow and answer him under My Requests. You can send up to 5 a day.

• Include the game's title and a store link (Steam or similar).
• Games with Denuvo, kernel anti-cheat, or that are online-only can't be fulfilled.

13.2 My Requests

My Requests shows everything you've requested and its status. It's available from the same toolbar. Staff can leave comments there, and you can reply. For Music and Comics requests the replies come from the collection owner.

14. Reading Comics with Komga

Komga is a free comic server and reader. It reads the comics you download from the Comics collection, builds a library with covers, series and reading progress, and lets you read in a browser or on your phone. You run Komga yourself; ARMGDDN does not host it. On the Comics page, the Download Komga row at the top takes you to Komga's own official install page. Below it are reading-order rows (see 14.4).

14.1 Before you start

• Download with App works for comics exactly as it does for games. Use a folder you will keep for comics, for example D:\Comics, and not a game folder.
• Comics arrive as .cbz and .cbr files. The Companion never unpacks these (it only extracts .7z), so leave them as they are. Komga reads them directly.
• Download a whole series folder when you can. The series folder name becomes the series name in Komga.

14.2 Get and install Komga

1. Click Download Komga at the top of the Comics page, or go to komga.org and open the Installation section.
2. Pick the method that suits you: the Desktop app (Windows and macOS, updates itself), the Microsoft Store, Docker, or the jar file (needs Java 17 or newer). If you are not sure, use the Desktop app.
3. Open Komga in your browser (by default http://localhost:25600) and create your admin account.

14.3 Add your comics

1. In Komga, open Libraries and choose Add library.
2. Name it Comics and set the root folder to the folder you download comics into.
3. Leave the options on their defaults and save. Komga scans and builds your library.
4. Each series folder becomes a series. If a comic has a ComicInfo.xml inside, Komga uses its title, number and summary.

14.4 Reading orders (Add to My Komga)

Under the Komga row on the Comics page are complete reading orders for Marvel, DC, Batman, Daredevil, Spider-Man and Superman. Each one can be added to your own Komga as a read list.

1. Update the Companion to 5.5.0 or newer.
2. In Komga open Account Settings, then API Keys, and add a key.
3. On the Comics page click Add to My Komga next to the list you want, then Use the Companion app.
4. The first time, enter your Komga address (usually http://localhost:25600) and the key. They stay on your PC.

Make sure comics are in Komga before you generate a read list or they won't show up. You can always generate another. Adding a list again replaces the one you already have with the fresh version.

New reading orders appear on this page by themselves when a comic collection grows past 40 issues, or when a list is added. To use a new one through the Companion, update it to 5.5.3 or newer.

14.5 Adding more later

Download new issues into the same series folder. Komga rescans on its own schedule, or open the library menu and choose Scan library files. If a series looks wrong, check that the issues are all in one folder and that the files were not renamed.

14.6 Reading on your phone

Komga works in any browser. Many comic apps also connect to it (look for apps that support Komga or OPDS). Sign in with the same address and account as the web page.

14.7 Troubleshooting

• Nothing shows up: check the library's root folder is the folder you downloaded into, then run Scan library files.
• No cover or a wrong cover: this usually means the first page is not a normal image. Open the book in Komga and set a cover from its pages.
• A .cbr will not open: the file may be damaged. Try downloading it again, and tell Old Man of the Hills if it keeps happening.
